Arepas with Chorizo

masa harina

½teaspoon

fine sea salt

warm water

2tablespoons

vegetable oil

  1. In a medium bowl, combine masa harina, fine sea salt, and warm water until smooth and not too sticky.

  2. Divide the dough into 8 patties. Set aside.

  3. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  4. Add arepa and cook until golden brown on both sides (5 mins per side). To keep warm, cover with foil. Split in half with a fork.

chipotle in adobo sauce, minced

green onions, minced

  1. In a skillet, add everything until Chorizo Crumbles is slightly crispy (5 mins).

vegan cheddar shreds

jalapeño, thinly sliced

cilantro, chopped

lime, cut into wedges

  1. Top the bottom half of each arepa with chorizo mixture, and all fillings.

  2. Cover with other half of arepa. Serve warm with lime wedges.
