extra-firm tofu, hand broken into bite size pieces

1cup

all-purpose flour

1cup

rice flour

½cup

bread crumbs, fine

4tablespoons

fresh parsley, finely chopped

1tablespoon

ground sage

1tablespoon

onion powder

1tablespoon

garlic powder

1teaspoon

granulated onion

black pepper, freshly ground

salt

vegetable oil

  1. In a medium sized bowl, add to mix all ingredients, minus vegetable oil and extra-firm tofu.

  2. Completely evenly coat each piece of extra-firm tofu in the seasoned flour.

  3. In a medium-sized cast iron pan (or sauté pan) over medium-high heat, add enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom (~1cm deep).

  4. When the oil is hot, add 6-7 pieces of breaded tofu, pan frying each side until completely golden brown. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel lined plate to dry/remove excess oil.


  5. When ready to serve, bake tofu on a baking sheet for 15 mins in a preheated oven (200°C/400°F). Serve with gravy and all the fixings.
